Built for Australian Practices

Every accounting and bookkeeping firm we speak to wants the same thing: more advisory work, less processing. And every one of them is stuck, because the processing never stops long enough to make the shift.

AI for Accountants exists to break that loop. We automate the accounts payable, coding, reconciliation prep, and client chasing that fills your team’s week — and we stop, deliberately and permanently, at the point where professional judgement begins.

Why We Built This

Compliance volume in Australian practices keeps rising. Client expectations keep rising. Fee pressure keeps rising. The traditional answers — hire another bookkeeper, send it offshore, work the quarter — all cost more, and none of them move your team toward the advisory work you actually want to be doing.

We are part of the Yes AI group, and accounting practices kept turning up in our automation work with the same shape of problem: enormous volumes of structured, repetitive document handling, wrapped around a small core of genuinely skilled professional judgement. That is close to the ideal case for AI — as long as you are honest about where the core starts.

So we built for the wrapper, not the core. The AI reads the invoice, proposes the code, chases the missing receipt, and assembles the file. Your registered agent reviews it, decides, and lodges it. That division of labour is the whole product.

Our Values

Four principles that decide what we build and, just as often, what we refuse to build.

The Line Is Not Negotiable

AI assists; it does not sign off, lodge, or exercise professional judgement. That is not a limitation we are working to remove — it is the design. Your TPB registration and your professional indemnity depend on a human making the call, and we build as though that matters, because it does.

Automate the Unbillable

We target the work clients will not pay a premium for: keying invoices, chasing receipts, pre-matching bank lines, assembling working papers. Every hour we take back is an hour your team can spend on advice, which is the part of your firm that actually compounds.

Explainable, Not Magic

Every coding suggestion shows its confidence and the evidence behind it — the prior invoice it matched, the supplier history, the rule that fired. A reviewer who cannot see why a code was proposed is not reviewing, they are rubber-stamping. We will not build that.

Australian Context, Built In

BAS, GST, ABN validation, ATO deadlines, Xero and MYOB as first-class citizens rather than an afterthought, and client data handled under the Privacy Act 1988. Built in Melbourne for firms operating under Australian rules, not a US product with a currency toggle.

How We Work With Firms

We start every engagement in read-only mode. The AI connects to your ledger, learns how your firm has historically coded each supplier and client, and starts proposing. Nothing is written. You watch it for a few weeks and form your own view of whether it is any good.

Once it has earned some trust, you widen its remit — category by category, client by client, threshold by threshold. Firms typically start with recurring utilities from known suppliers under a modest dollar limit, then expand as the exception rate speaks for itself. You are never asked to flip a switch and hope.

We are a Melbourne-based team and you can talk to us. If the AI gets something consistently wrong on your ledger, we want to know, because the fix usually helps every firm on the platform.
